What a wonderful night of great food, flavor, atmosphere, and service. My husband is a Certified Master Chef and I have enjoyed a wide variety of food experiences in my life, this one goes on the map! The menu is creative and entirely easy to navigate. Our selections were fresh, with amazing flavors and interesting blends of Thai cuisine. The food presentation was also exceptional, I was very pleased. I also want to mention how fantastic our server, Kina was. She truly loves for people to enjoy not only a meal in a restaurant, but an experience… we fully participated and enjoyed!

Sweet Basil Thai has been one of my favorite restaurants for a while, and the dinner I had last weekend was yet another topper. I tried one of their monthly specials – Complicated Ravioli. I can’t list all the ingredients, but they included ravioli, scallops, calimari and eggplant in a green curry sauce. It was fabulous.

“Sooooo Yummy!”

I eat here two or three times a month, and if a meeting comes up with a friend or an opportunity to have a lunch with someone comes up, it’s our first choice. The Tom Ka soup is the best I have ever had. The fresh wraps with peanut sauce are excellent and we get Pad Thai for comfort food or Cashew Gai for typical lunches. The lunch menu is on the back and is served until 2:30 I believe. Most lunches are $8-a great value!  ~  maulaniwalsh  Dec 10′

“Best Thai Food you can find in the US”

The best Thai food we have ever had has obviously been in Thailand. That changed when we ate at Sweet Basil in Eugene Oregon. Eugene of all places?!? The food is fresh & exotic. We are only in Eugene a couple times a year, although we always stop by Sweet Basil. ~ powpowlover  Sept.10′

“You want it HOT?  You got it!”

I took my wife out for an Anniversary present, she really wanted a dinner that was “really” hot for dinner.  We read the reviews and decided on Sweet Basil.

I am glad I took her there. The atmosphere was absolutely cool, and when the food arrived, we inquired about the spicy ‘level’ and were told if it wasn’t hot enough, just add the “cup” to the meal as needed. I have not seen my wife eat a “spicy” meal to satisfaction in quite a while, after putting the sauce on, I saw tears in her eyes, I asked her if there was a problem, she replied” no problem, just right!

Definitely recommend if you like hot stuff…I chose the milder seafood platter, and was equally happy. Definitely a repeat customer! ~ SpringfieldLeo26  Sept. 10′

“Best Thai food I’ve had in Eugene so far.”

I have been wanting to try this place for the longest time! I just usually go to Ta Ra Rin cause the parking is a little more convenient. Not any more!!!

The shinning star at Sweet Basil for me is the Pad Thai. (I know, such a boring dish) but that’s what makes this place so amazing. I never knew Pad Thai could taste so good!!! I took my family and in-laws here and everyone had a great time and great food!

Best Thai Food in Eugene for sure! ~ Mary C.

“The best soup I have ever had”

I went to Sweet Basil Thai after a long day of travel/work and was blown away. Their Tom Kah soup was, without a doubt, the best soup I have ever had in my life. Each bite made me want another and another. It was a perfect combination of sweet/savory/seafood-like and served in a very generous bowl sized portion. The service was good and the rest of the meal was delicious. However the Tom Kah soup has sent me on a quest to find its equal somewhere in Chicago (my home town) unless I can finagle another trip out to Eugene.
